Ways to support

Leaving a lasting impact on the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame, planned giving, sometimes referred to as gift planning, allows philanthropic individuals or donors to make larger gifts than they can make from their income. Planned giving enables donors to use estate and tax planning techniques to provide for charity and other heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor's estate. Gifts may be directed to the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame Endowed Scholarship Fund, overseen by the Capital Region Community Foundation.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame Awards Funding to Higher Education Institutions with Insurance and Risk Management programs.

Providing scholarships is one of the lesser known benefits of the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame programs.  Each year,  programs at colleges and universities in the State of Michigan are granted funds which are utilized for individual student scholarships or supporting students to attend insurance industry conferences and functions.

The purpose of the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals for excellence in leadership, service, and contributions to improve the ability of the Michigan insurance industry to serve the public in the state of Michigan, and furthermore to support education, research, and technology that advances the understanding and public awareness and recognition of the economic role of the insurance and risk management business.

The scholarship funds are donated by current members and friends of the Hall of Fame.  As each induction ceremony nears, the Hall solicits donations in the name of the current inductees.
